I wrote this little book for the National Portrait Gallery in the late 1990s, and it was beautifully reissued a few years later, along with other titles in the series. Sad to say, it has never been a good seller, as opposed to sister books on the poets of the First World War, or the Pre-Raphaelites. You can currently buy it for 1p on Amazon, presumably because a charge of 0p would bugger the system and maybe even break the internet.
